Carol is a Nashville native. She graduated from Belmont College in 1984, and began her nursing career as an ICU nurse. In 1988, she moved into a Utilization Review Case management position, and then in 1995 she had her first exposure to research as a research coordinator for a local center. There she worked on clinical trials for hypertension, hyperlipidemia and birth control. In 2001, she changed careers for a 3-year stent teaching Health Sciences in a local high school. Her passion however was still research, so she returned in 2004 to become the Research Nurse Manager in a Dermatology clinic where she ran trials of Biologic Infusions for Psoriasis, phototherapy, acne, Vitiligo, Hyperhidrosis and other pharmaceutical sponsored trials. In 2007, she had the opportunity to transition her leadership and research experience to Vanderbilt where she continues to work as a Research Projects manager. She has had a total of over 21 years of research experience, has seen the industry evolve and grow, and is excited to see what the next decade has in store.
She has been married for 38 years to her high school sweetheart and has two married children. She is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild this September.
