Mary moved to Nashville in 1989. She studied Nursing at Tennessee State University. Mary began working at Vanderbilt in 2004 as a Pediatric Perioperative RN, and has over 14 years of Perioperative nursing experience. Her career in research began in 2012 with the acceptance into the Nursing Researching Fellowship. Upon graduation from the fellowship, she accepted a position of Quality Improvement Analyist for Perioperative Services in 2014. Mary has done guest lectures for nurse interns with the Vanderbilt Nursing program, Podium presentations, and was a coordinator for a multi-site Statistical Study. She joined the Vanderbilt Coordinating Center in Clinical Trails as a Nurse Research Specialist in April 2017. Mary enjoys family gatherings and actives with her children and grandchildren, crafts, water sports, college football and is an active member of a conservation group that works to save endangered Sea Turtles.
